Theater rentals are available at the Madison. We are always happy to work with community groups, schools, churches,
and individuals. There is currently one screen equipped for digital video presentation in up to a 9X16 non-letterboxed image.
When arranging for a rental, please keep in mind that we also have to deal with film studios and this makes things more complicated.
Arranging a rental needs preplanning from at least 2 weeks to a month or more, depending on what you want to do and when you want
to do it.
When we show a film, we are obligated to the studios to show that film on a full schedule. When we rent a theater, we must plan to
have a film that is old enough so the studio will not complain when we ask to not show it for an evening.
Weekends (Fri., Sat., Sun.) are tough ones. They are prime time for the studios and for us. We have had a few cases where we were
able to work around our obligations so it is not impossible, just unlikely.
Despite these restrictions, Midnight Shows are ours to choose what we want to show. If your event will work with a midnight
screening, then things are quite easy. Also weekday shows when we are not showing matinees are also quite easy. School groups
are quite welcome as well as other civic originations. The rates for such special showings depend on the situation and are usually
more reasonable than the rates listed below.
If you are planning a private showing of a film that we are showing, then our normal ticket prices will be charged per person. If you are
supplying the entertainment, you set the ticket price.
The availability of upcoming films is always in flux. We can only confirm what exactly we will have the Monday before the Friday that
a film opens. Studios perform test screening up to the last minute to decide how many copies of the film will be made and to what
theaters they will go to.
With all that being said, I am glad you are still with us.
Prices for rentals start as follows and can be negotiable depending on the situation.
Nightly (Mon – Thru) $150 or 50% of the box office receipts, whichever is higher.
Weekly (from Fri. to Thru.) $800 or 50% of the box office receipts, whichever is higher.
Weekends (if at all possible) $150 per show or 50% of the box office receipts, whichever is higher.
Any test screening or setups (digital video projector adjustments) are included in the price provided that they do not interfere with our
current schedule.
No alcohol is allowed.
If any food it to be brought in as part of the presentation, an additional fee has to be negotiated.
If any special film handling is necessary, there may be an extra fee.
NOTICE TO FILM MAKERS
With proper arrangements we will screen your films for free, provided that they do not disrupt our normal schedule.
We have held test screenings and small premiers for filmmakers before our normal hours.
